Forgetting the horrors of Sept. 11 Islamic extremism, the White House pressures Israel into a unilateral ceasefire, moving the discussion to the bargaining table with one of the most racist terror groups on the planet.  Unlike former President George W. Bush that learned the hard way about Islamic extremism, President Barack Obama hasn’t got the message that the U.S. won’t negotiate with terrorists like Hamas—nor should Israel.  If Sept. 11 taught the U.S. anything, you can’t negotiate with terrorists whose mission is simply to destroy American or Israeli sovereignty.  U.S. officials would have rejected out-of-hand negotiating with Osama bin Laden.  Expecting Israel to negotiate with a group that is sworn to their destruction, with language in the Hamas’s charter right out of Hitler’s Mein Kampf is both naïve and dangerous.  Obama doesn’t get that the U.S. needs Israel to be safe-and-secure.

Compromising with a terror group whose stated mission is Israel’s destruction is dangerous to U.S. and Israeli national security makes no sense.  Before Sept. 11, the U.S. routinely pressured Israel into trading land-for-peace, something that never worked because Palestinians want only one thing:  To destroy the Jewish State.  “The president stressed the U.S. view that, ultimately, any lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict must ensure the disarmament of terrorist groups and the demilitarization of Gaza,” said the White House, completely ignoring Hamas’s stated mission of destroying Israel.  Speaking to Public Broadcasting System’s journalist Charlie Rose in Doha, Qatar, Hamas’s exiled leader 58-year-old Khaled Meshaal clarified Palestinians’ position on Israel.  Hamas will never recognize “the Zionist entity,” nor will it coexist with the “occupiers” of Palestine.

Meshaal answered the White House directly what they can expect from Hamas now or in the future.  “We are not fanatics, we are not fundamentalists.  We are not actually fighting Jews because they are Jews per se.  We do not fight any other races.  We fight the occupiers,” said Meshaal clarifying for the world to see Hamas’s position.  Hamas views Israel as the “occupier” of Palestinian land in Israel proper or the expanded post-1967 War territories, including the East Jerusalem and the West Bank of Jordan, the Gaza Strip and the Golan Heights.  Meshaal has no beef with the Jews as long as they vacate all of Israel.  “I am ready to coexist with the Jews, with the Christians and the Arabs and non-Arabas,” said Meshaal.  “However, I do not coexist with the occupiers,” stating for the record that Hamas’s path is nothing short than destroying Israel and taking over the land of Palestine.

Surely White House officials, in pressing Israel into making concessions, understand Hamas’s stated goals.  No coexistence with “occupiers,” something currently Israel does in land ceded to them by the British in 1948 and land taken as spoils of the 1967 Six-Day-War.  Obama knows that Hamas will not disarm or demilitarize now or ever.  “When we have a Palestinian state then the Palestinian state will decide on the policies.  You cannot actually ask me about the future.  I answered you,” said Meshaal to Rose.  White House officials are in equal disbelief as Rose, hearing that Hamas cannot recognize the “occupiers,” now or ever.  “But Palestinian people can have their say when they have their own state without occupation,” clarified Meshaal, stating for the record that Israel cannot continue to exist.  Laying ruins to Gaza, Hamas hopes to win enough sympathy in world opinion.

Obama and his Secretary of State John Kerry seek an immediate ceasefire due to rising civilian casualties.  If they wanted the war to really end, the White House would state for the record that Israel should not negotiate with a terror group hell-bent on their destruction.  Watching generations of Hamas’s leaders assassinated by Israel including Hamas Founder Sheikh Abmad Yassin and his successor Abdel Aziz al-Rantisi, Meshaal and Gaza’s 51-year-old leader Ismail Haniyeh have one answer to Israel:  We will destroy you.  Hamas’s Al Aqsa TV and Radio broadcast only the imminent victory over the Zionist state, despite laying to waste large swaths of Gaza.  Meshaal and Haniyeh actually believe the more civilian casualties in Gaza the closer Hamas gets to destroying the Jewish State.  Neither man can account for why not one Arab state has joined them in their battle against Israel.

White House officials must stop the two-faced PR campaign pressuring Israel into a ceasefire with a dangerous terror group with ties to Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood.  If the White House really backs the Egyptian peace plan, they need to recognize that Egypt’s new President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi won’t negotiate with banned terror groups like the Muslim Brotherhood or its junior offshoot Hamas in Gaza.  Egypt joined Israel’s efforts to destroy smuggling and terror tunnels from Gaza into Egypt.  Hamas’s current leadership is at war with anyone that doesn’t subscribe to their radical plan to destroy Israel and replace it with a Palestinian state.  Palestinians are too brainwashed by Hamas’s Al Aqsa TV and Radio to see that its leaders are destroying Gaza under the twisted propaganda that they’re conquering the Jewish State.  A look at the rubble tells Gazans the real story.
