Facing an angry press over two years of accusations about alleged collusion with Russia, 68-year-old Atty. Gen. William Barr gave the facts from the two-year Mueller investigation finding that 72-year-old Donald Trump, no one in his campaign or any other American colluded with Russia in the 2016 campaign. Democrats and their friends in the press had charged, tried and convicted Trump of collusion and obstruction of justice for nearly two years, only to find out there was no collusion. Trump’s got every right to feel falsely accused, purely out of politics, as Democrats and press after his Nov. 4, 2016 election did everything possible to nullify his victory. Trump’s behavior since Deputy Atty. Gen. Rod Rosenstein appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller as Special Counsel May 17, 2017 was consistent with someone falsely accused, protesting loudly at every opportunity.

Press reports show Trump making disparaging comments about the Mueller probe, implying that Trump was obstructing the investigation. But when you put Trump’s protests in context, it mirrors someone falsely accused, something proven correct by Mueller’s findings. While it’s true Mueller said he couldn’t determine whether or not Trump obstructed justice, it’s also true that Mueller found no collusion, the substance of the investigation. When it comes to Mueller’s 2017 mandate, he was supposed to determine whether or not Russia meddled in the 2016 presidential election, not only whether Trump conspired with Russia to win the presidency. While Mueller’s Report says there’s no doubt that Russia meddled in the 2016 election, he can’t state with any certainty whether it changed one U.S. vote. Yet the media was fixated on Trump’s alleged collusion.

It wasn’t that long ago, Feb. 20, that former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe told CBS News Scott Pelley that Trump was a Russian “asset.” Former Obama administration officials have gone on record, including former National Security Adviser James Clapper and former CIA Director John Brennan, saying with certainty that Trump was a Russian asset. Countless media reports have spent most of its daytime and nighttime programming pushing the narrative that Trump was essentially working for the Russians, at least fatally compromised. “Statements are made about me by certain people in the Crazy Mueller Report, in itself written by 18 angry Democrat Trump Haters, which are fabricated & totally untrue,” Trump tweeted, prompting more accusations by the anti-Trump press. Cleared by the Special Counsel of collusion, Democrats and the press won’t let go of the false narrative.

Politics, not facts, determine how Democrats and press proceed into the 2020 race. Calling Trump a Russian “asset” Feb. 20, McCabe reveals what’s really happening behind the scenes at the FBI. Faced with an internal audit by Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz, DOJ and FBI officials involved in the 2016-2017 counter-terrorism investigation on Trump are starting to sweat. Calling Trump a Russian “asset,” McCabe hopes to justify the FBI’s covert investigation into the Trump campaign. As more facts come out, it looks like former President Barack Obama authorized a counter-intelligence investigation to damage Trump’s 2016 campaign to help former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton get elected. Now that Mueller Report’s in the rearview window, Atty. Gen. William Barr, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), chairman of the Judiciary Committee, want to find out the origins of the FBI’s counter-intelligence investigation of Trump’s campaign.

Former FBI Director James Comey is doing everything possible to cover-up his role in sabotaging Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. He’s testified that he had “probable cause” to investigate former Trump foreign policy aid Carter Page for Russian collusion. Authorized by Obama’s former Atty. Gen. Loretta Lynch, Comey used Hillary’s paid opposition research AKA “the dossier” to obtain warrants from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act [FISA] Court to wiretap Page and other Trump campaign officials. Comey insists he had other evidence other than “the dossier,” but has produced nothing. Horowitz is attempting to see whether Comey abused his power going to the FISA Court to wiretap Trump campaign officials. Comey believes he was legally authorized to open up a counter-intelligence investigation on Trump’s campaign based on Hillary’s paid opposition research.

When Trump calls the Mueller investigation a “witch-hunt,” it’s precisely because he knew he didn’t collude with Russia in the 2016 election. Knowing Mueller found after nearly two years no collusion, it’s no wonder Trump wanted the investigation to stop, knowing it lacked legitimacy. Democrats seized on the Mueller Report’s statement about Trump’s alleged obstruction of justice. “If we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the president did not obstruct justice, we would so state,” says the Mueller Report. But if Trump was cleared of all collusion, what would the president try to obstruct? If there’s no underlying crime, it’s impossible for the president to obstruct something that didn’t exist. “Accordingly, while this report does not coclude that the president committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him,” throwing Democrats an already chewed bone.
