Playing the press like a fiddle, 68-year-old Democratic nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton proved she’s still either the master of disguise or the press defends her when she’s losing in the polls. Recent polls show Hillary losing most if not all her post-convention bounce, putting her in a dead heat with 70-year-old GOP nominee real estate tycoon Donald Trump. Speaking to the press aboard her new campaign jet “Hill Force One,” Hillary cleverly diverted attention away from her husband, former Bill Clinton, who earned as $18 million as “honorary” chancellor of for-profit International Laureate University. Growing press reports about Hillary and Bill wheeling-and-dealing while running the State Department with Clinton Foundation donors weighed on Hillary’s polls. Diverting the press to Trump’s alleged ties with a Russian hacking scandal goes over the top.

Manipulating the press on her new jet, Hillary raised possible Russian ties to the Trump campaign. “We are facing a very serious concern. We’ve never had a foreign adversarial power be already involved in our electoral process with the DNC hacks. We’ve never had a nominee of one of our major parties urging the Russian to hack more said Clinton,” referring to a sarcastic comment Trump July 27 asking Putin to find Hillary’s 33,000 missing emails. An alleged Russian hack of emails released by WikiLeads July 25 showed the DNC worked hard to sabotage the campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). DNC Chairman Debbie Wasserman Schultz was forced to resign July 25 just before the Democratic National Convention. Turning the scandal Hillary directed at the DNC into a problem for Trump shows she knows how to manipulate the press, too intimidated to ask her serious questions.

Instead of praising revelations of corruption at the DNC, Hillary blames Trump for saying positive things about Russian President Vladimir Putin. Hillary often says she “doesn’t do conspiracies,” rejecting any suggestions that she grossly abused the State Department to collect massive cash donations to the Clinton Foundation. Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texa) said Hillary duped the Foreign Relations Committee in 2009 during her confirmation hearings. Hillary told senators she saw no conflicts-of-interest with her role as Secretary of State with the Clinton Foundation. “I think it’s quite intriguing that this activity happened around the time [Donald] Trump became the nominee. And look, he very early on allied himself with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin’s policies,” said Hillary. If that’s’ not pushing conspiracy theories, than what is?” Trump recognized Obama’s abysmal U.S.-Russian relations.

As seen by President Barack Obama’s failure at the G20 in Hangzhou, China, abysmal U.S.-Russian relations has hurt U.S. foreign policy. Improved ties to Russia helps U.S. geopolitics especially with rogue states, like North Korea, where the Kremlin holds more sway than the U.S. Better ties with Russia would help resolve the nearly six-year-old Syrian War that destabilizes the Mideast and threatens Europe with an endless flow of refugees. Demonizing Putin, Hillary continues to harm U.S. global credibility and national security. Blaming Trump for making overtures to improve U.S.-Russian relations is outrageous. U.S. officials have to be “on guard to protect our electoral system at all levels and we have to make clear that we’re not gonna let anyone interfere with decisions of the American people,” said Hillary, again promoting her new Russian conspiracy theory.

Hillary’s press corps knows they can’t ask any tough questions without getting promptly ejected from her handpicked sycophants. Questioning her about missing emails or State Department ties to the Clinton Foundation are strictly prohibited. Questioned by Bloomberg last week, Putin denied that Russian hackers infiltrated the Democratic National Committee. “Listen, does it even matter who hacked this data?” asked Putin. “The important thing is the content that was given to the public,” fueling more speculation about Russian hacking. Hillary dismisses conspiracy theories but is the first to tie Trump to a Russian hacking scandal. When asked softly by the press about the FBI’s recently release of emails on her personal server, Hillary changed the topic. “I’m not concerned about conspiracy theories,” said Hillary, dismissing any connection to her personal email use as Secretary of State.

Proving that Hillary knows how to work a eagerly obedient press, she cleverly diverts attention from her email scandal recently revealing that her staff, on Hillary’s orders, destroyed 13 mobile phones containing secret data most likely corroborating her play-to-play corruption at the State Department. When FBI Director James Comey refused to file charges against Hillary July 5, he insisted he had no proof she lied to the FBI. When you consider Hillary had her private email server scrubbed and ordered her staff to destroy her mobile phones, Comey had everything needed to charge her with obstruction of justice. Hiding, tampering or destroying electronic data is all the government needs to prosecute for obstruction of justice. Hillary wants the press to focus on Trump’s dubious connection to Putin, not her 33,000 missing emails or 13 destroyed mobile devices.
