Billed as a “major national security speech,” 68-year-old former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton showed why she’s the master of diversion, offering no specifics only attacks against expected rival GOP presumptive nominee real estate tycoon Donald Trump. Let there be no mistake, Hillary’s speech wasn’t about foreign or domestic policy but a frontal attack against Trump, painting him as a racist with dangerous plans for domestic and foreign policy. Calling Trump’s policies a “historic mistake,” Hillary offered only platitudes about what a foreign and domestic policy would look like under her leadership. Unlike Trump, Hillary has a clear track record of foreign policy mistakes, costing U.S. and foreign lives in Iraq, Syria, Libya and the Middle East. Her 100% backing of the five-year-long Saudi-funded proxy war to topple Syrian President Bashar Assad has cost over 250,000 lives.

Speaking in San Diego before the June 7 California primary, Hillary finds herself, once again, slipping in the polls against her rival Sen. Bernie Sanders [I-Vt.]. Attacking Trump, Hillary hopes to persuade California voters that she’s the inevitable winner of California’s proportional share of 548 delegates. With only 70 votes shy of her magic number of 2,383 to win the nomination, Hillary will go over the top on June 7, regardless of whether Bernie wins California or any other state. Hillary hopes her attacks on Trump show that she’s closed the deal on the Democratic nomination. Painting Trump as a dangerous boob without any foreign or domestic policy experience, Hillary hopes to steer voters away from her actual foreign policy record. Hillary likes to point out Trump’s affinity toward dictators. Trump likes to show Hillary’s propensity, like former President George W. Bush, to topple dictators.

Hillary ripped Trump for calling President Barack Obama’s use of the military “weak and ineffective.” Trump points to the conflicted White House policy fighting on the same side as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria [ISIS], al-Qaeda’s al-Nusra Front and Saudi-funded opposition groups all fighting to topple al-Assad. Hillary admits she made a mistake backing the Iraq War but doesn’t really say why. Hillary backed, as secretary of state, toppling long-time U.S. ally Hosni Mubarak in Egypt, Libya’s Col. Muammar Gaddafi and now backs getting rid of Syria’s al-Assad. Hillary talks of her vast foreign policy experience but won’t admit she’s been wrong on every Mideast adventure, spreading more terrorism and instability in the Middle East. She criticizes Trump for wanting better relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Under her and Obama’s foreign policy, U.S.-Russian relations sunk to a Cold War low.

Twisting Trump’s positions on foreign and domestic policy, Hillary showed she’s busy discrediting Trump to the ill-informed. “It is no small passing thing when he [Trump] talks about leaving NATO or says he’s stay neutral on Israel’s security. It’s no small thin when he calls Mexicans rapists and murders,” said Hillary jumping from one thing to another. Trump never said he wanted to end U.S. involvement in NATO. He said he’d like to see wealthy NATO countries like German pay their fair share. He told the American-Israeli Public Affairs Committee [AIPAC] March 21, 2016 that Israel’s security was his top priority. When it comes to neutrality, no one pushed Israel to make more concessions to Palestinians than former President Bill Clinton. Bill insisted the U.S. was an impartial broker in Israeli-Palestinian peacemaking. Hillary’s obvious distortions show why voters don’t trust her.

Highlighting Hillary’s hypocrisy were her comments about Trump’s criticism of the Iran-Nuke-Deal that she backed. “Donald Trump doesn’t know the first thing about Iran or its nuclear program,” said Hillary. Hillary knows Trump criticized the Iranian Nuke-Deal precisely because it lacked proper verification to tell whether it really prevented Iran’s pursuit of the bomb. Hillary can’t have it both ways: Backing the Iranian Nuke-Deal and, at the same time, ripping Trump for questioning the deal’s validity. “We all know the tools Donald Trump brings to the table: bragging, mocking, composing nasty Tweets,” said Hillary, spending an entire speech ripping Trump. It’s OK for Hillary to rip Trump with impunity but not OK for Trump to hit back. With the mainstream media backing Hillary, Trump’s going to have to double-down responding to Hillary’s attacks.

Hillary likes to rip Trump for his “fascination” with tyrants. “Now, I will leave it to the psychiatrists to explain his affection for tyrants,” said Hillary. “I just wonder how anyone could be so wrong about who American’s real friends are,” referring to Trump’s desire to open up dialogues with Russia, Iran and North Korea. As Bernie pointed out, Hillary’s got a proven track record backing toppling Mideast dictators, spreading more terrorism and instability. Trump hasn’t yet pointed out the cash Hillary has taken from Saudi Arabia and Arab Gulf states into the Clinton Foundation. Her 100% backing of Saudi Arabia’s proxy war to topple al-Assad directly relates to her financial ties to Saudi Arabia and Gulf States. Hillary insists that the amount of cash she’s taken from Wall Street and oil-rich Mideast states doesn’t affect her policies. Hillary’s speech ripped Trump but offered no specifics on foreign or domestic policy.
